Transforming Corporate Spaces Through the G&D Executive Briefing Center Project

Location: G&D Briefing Center in Houston, Texas, United States

Installation Time: 2024.09

Product Quantity: 32 Panels

In collaboration with G&D, CECOCECO tailored the design of the Executive Briefing Center to meet the expectations of G&D’s diverse client base. The installation of an ArtMorph wall in the lobby not only enhances the visual appeal of the space but also strategically utilizes a corner layout to maximize the spatial impact. This design decision was aimed at creating a memorable first impression for visitors, embodying both companies’ commitment to quality and seamlessly blending aesthetics with functionality.

Design Concept and Texture Selection

The design of the ArtMorph wall at the Executive Briefing Center was inspired by the natural environment of Houston, specifically the texture and appearance of Texas Limestone. To emulate this distinctive local feature, a 3D limestone-inspired texture was meticulously applied to the wall’s faceplate, mirroring the authentic look and feel of stone. This innovative surface not only boosts the visual appeal of the display but also creates a dynamic interplay between the digital content and the physical space. The most creative and appealing aspect of this project is the interplay between the surface design and the content, as evidenced in the video from 00:20 to 00:27. By integrating this stone-like aesthetic, the installation enhances G&D’s brand image and establishes a connection to the regional landscape, adding a layer of local relevance to the installation.

The installation consists of 32 panels, 20 of which are regular panels and 12 dummy panels. The 20 lighter-colored panels are functional, while the 12 darker-colored panels on the left, at the top and bottom, are dummy panels.

Implementation

Texas Limestone-Inspired Seamless Design: The limestone-inspired finish provides a natural, regional aesthetic that complements the display and enhances the lobby's overall ambiance. This seamless integration of texture and customizable content draws on local architectural elements, achieving a balance between technical and aesthetic.

Corner Installation and Planning: The ArtMorph corner installation was designed to take full advantage of the unique spatial layout of the Executive Briefing Center’s lobby, creating a visually engaging experience by utilizing a corner setup. This configuration allowed for custom content to flow seamlessly across two connected surfaces. The corner layout required careful planning and precise field measurements to ensure that the display elements aligned perfectly with the physical environment.

Testimonials

"G&D North America is incredibly proud of the CECOCECO video wall in the lobby of our ControlCenter-Xperience (CCX) Houston. It offers an incredible wow factor to the visitors to the experience center and gets many of them thinking of what is possible in such a common space by reinforcing a brand or setting a mood for the space. We are an experience center focused on the mission-critical space and while the product is not specifically a control room product, it most certainly has a fit in such common spaces outside the control room to provide a calming environment to the control room operators. And when the mindset of the operator is good, then their performance increases in the control room which in turn makes the control room more effective and efficient. Therefore we heavily endorse the use of the CECOCECO product in such environments as well as other architectural video applications."

"CECOCECO ArtMorph is a highly visible display at the G&D ControlCenter-Xperience (CCX) Houston. It is the first thing a visitor sees when they enter the facility. The creative tile display and content set visitor expectations as they experience state-of-the-art control room and audiovisual presentation technology. The limestone wall tile theme reflects historical Texas construction materials, and the luminous video content showcases eye-catching visuals while highlighting manufacturing partners that contribute to CCX, Houston.

The ArtMorph display was quickly installed in one day. The tiles use a very low profile on walls making them easy to apply in our entryway and they are quick and easy to service if ever required. The CECOCECO ArtMorph is a valuable element shaping the experience of visitors to the G&D CCX Houston."
